Conferences and scientific events

  • European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD): Starts end of Sept every year. A large European conference on diabetes. Usually Steno sends most researchers. In English.
  • American Diabetes Association (ADA): Usually in end of June every year. A large North American (USA-based) conference on diabetes. In English.
  • European Diabetes Epidemiology Group: Usually in May every year. An important epidemiology conference attended by many at Steno.
  • Many of the DDEA/DCA/DDSA events: There are three Danish “Academies” funded by NovoNordiskFonden (NNF) that run many great events and activities throughout the year:

Social events

Some of the events are found in here as well as listed below.

  • Research Retreat: Usually around May-June every year and is two days retreat at a conference center. In English.
  • Christmas dinner: Usually at the start of December. Often starts after 15 hr and continues until late evening. In Danish.
  • DHL-run: To be added.
  • Summer Party: To be added.

Work events

These include meetings, clubs, lectures, and other work-related activities and events. A detailed list of meetings is found on the Research events page of the official SDCA website.

Online activities

Newsletters

Steno News is published once a month (in Danish) and sent to relevant mailgroups. You can also subscribe to the newsletter.

Slack

You might know Slack? That’s Steno Diabetes Center Aarhus’s social media. Here, you will be able to connect with people across SDCA. Social and scientific events and lunch pack photos – it’s all there under the Channels #2_forskning and #6_events.
